week 13 Killing joke thoughts

The Killing joke is pretty interesting. It takes the point that batman and the joker are both kinda of insane and they both in some way kind of realize that fact.  They know that they hated each other so much, that in the end one of them is going down or even they going to both going down together. Ether way until that day comes there war is going to be almost never ending. Batman wants to at least try and break the cycle, make some sort of peace, and maybe even help the joker in someway. So, in the end when batman is finally able to make the offer of peace to joker even after he hurt and even crippled on of his students. Batman makes his offer of peace to the joker which then the joker refuses.
then that's kind it. batman then proceeds to shake the joker after he begins to tell a joke.

It's implied that maybe the batman kills the joker but then also batman during the fight scene earlier fell over and he keeps looking at his hand afterwards also implying that Batman might of poisoned himself with the jokers poison. This could be interpreted that both of them die in the end and that this is the final batman story. I don't know if i can really connect to the kinda war that the batman and joker are going thought because i don't think I've ever hated anyone like that before. Maybe the closest I've ever gotten to it was with a school teacher I had in high school. Where I ended up me doing something pretty stupid that got me in kinda of big trouble, so I guess in that war I was the one who ended up the one going down.

Man, I don't think I would even try and adapt it. I never understand the thought of wanting to remake something in a different medium if the work expectantly if the work is near perfect in the medium it was made in why mess with that. no matter how good it is people will always say that the source was better and of course you'd have to make changes that will please the overlords that are funding the project.

like with the killing joke short film, the changes they made to batwomen almost being like a love interest to the batman is very disappointing

maybe in a prefect work I can pictured some sort comic or book that I'm really into and recreate without any out side input from some big company. then I'd love a try at it

Week 14

When I was younger I used to read a bunch of  comics. Growing up as a dyslexic kid, It was kinda hard to get me to read at all, but at some point my mom and dad took me to a used book store with a bunch of comics and manga. I rember also looking going forward to going to downtown houston with the book store to pick some random comic to read just beacuse i liked the cover. I used to even write comics and share them with my friends in like middle school and onhttp://www.whompcomic.com/comic/under-lock-and-peeWhomp is self deprecating comic about the writer himself. He lives with his fictitious roommates that may or may not be based on real people. At it's best, It's very realtieable with it's lovable loser character Ronnie. almost to a point where it's kinda hard for me to read at points. Although I do think it's pretty hit or miss but it's probably the most consistent webcomic I read.

http://rosiannarabbit.com/post/139062916263/rosianna-rabbit-018-rosianna-rabbit-and-harry
Rosianna Rabbit is a vulgar and dark comic. The humor also kinda just revolves around the shock valve of the dirty jokes about sex drugs and suicide. You know the good stuff. After reading some of those underground comics this might seem kinda vanilla at least pg-13 in comparison. I still enjoy reading it regardless.

Maybe Schadenfreude is the right word of why I keep up with this junk. Heathcliff is a comic with alot of history to sueing Jim Davids for also writing a comic about a fat orange cat to having a failed movie in movie in 2012 that is now concerned lost media. For whatever reason someone is keeping up with writing heathcliff comics and having them printed in local new papers and posting them on facebook. It's pretty nonsensical, not funny and probably not worth a read unless your like me

David Rapoza is a concept artist that i really like so when he launched a kickstarter for his comic I was pretty excited anyway. Steven Litchenmen is a comic funded on kickstarter that's pretty funny. It follows the lich and his monster friend living in a dungeon. At times it can get pretty dark and somethings there can be a lot of dialogue but i think it worth anyone's time to at least read the free preview online

I'm sure at some point one of your students must of brought up boxer hockey. It's easily one of my favorite webcomics by an artist I also realy like. Read it if you haven't. It starts a little slow but once the comic become more of an on going story than a weekly gag comic is when it really gets good

week 12 Comic by women

So I want a excuse to read the My little Pony comic and I saw that it was on the alternative reading so.  when the My Little Pony TV show came out it was kind of taking over an Internet board called 4chan that i frequent and due to all the damn cute horses people were posting it made me try and watch the show and I really liked it but it was defiantly like I'm gonna watch this in by myself and never tell anyone but anyway yea i was a fan of the show and i eventually got some of my friends to watch it in high school.

Anyway the comic kinda came out a lot about the time i kinda stopped watching but i had heard some some dudes that it was pretty good and I'm glad I got to use this as an excuse to read it because I did enjoy it.

Something about this cute ponies and rad looking line art. It's pretty cool to see these charterers in a different art style that is not like like show. as much as i do like the show and i think it looks pretty good i do think the art style can get kinda boring looking and a lot of the charterers look kinda similar due to the animators wanting to stick to model and junk. I think of think of these comics as a comfy to come back to and read. I don't know if I'll really come back to it but i do like cute horses

I also read a bit of she hulk which I thought was also pretty good. I've always heard of she hulk, but I've never actually read anything about her so I as pretty interested. She like a hulk that can control her powers with no problem. It's kinda funny that she so comfortable with the power than the hulk himself. I could see myself reading some more of this in my free time it's pretty good.

Week 11

I've read a bit of bone when I was younger and I actually read a bit of the great cow race when I was super young. Like maybe back in middle school I picked it up at the book fair. I was kinda of dumb at the time for not realizing that I was picking up the comic book in the middle of the story. At the time I didn't realize that it was like part 3 or something. Anyway coming back to now was pretty cool I don't think when I was younger I really cared much for it but i think that had to do with me trying to pick up the story like midway thought it. I liked the kinda call back to the Scott McCloud understanding comics book that the character looked really simple and background was pretty well detailed but i do like the contrast of some of the realist looking character to the super cartoony. kinda wacky. maybe I'd come back to this

week 10: manga and the japanese comics tradition

I used to read a lot of manga when I was younger being a dyslexic kid It was kinda to get me to read. so my folks were pretty happy to get me to read at all. Cyborg 009 was the first manga I had ever read. which is weird because of how old it is but I bought all my manga at a half price book store, so they didn't have the hot new naruto mangas. I did read a bit of astro boy it was pretty good im a big fan of the more cartoony classic look of anime. that might just be because of read stuff like cryborg 009 when i was younger

also the movie we watched in class was pretty damn good but man it was pretty heavy to watch that early in the morning

Week 9: a wide world of comics

Week 8 diversity in comics

Kinda glad that I wasn't wasn't there i wouldn't want to her about this kinda junk in the morning but any way. while do a agree with some of the questions that were brought up that Anita Sarkeesian and her now partner in crime Zoe Quien asked the kinda of long term effect that this kinda of stuff has on a community. The way she blows things out of preportion and takes things out of the context to make them seem worse .

I think having more Diversity in media is a great thing but certain games and movies have a audience that there were intended for and damning things for being sexy showing  or showing bit of skin is lame. I like sexy things kill me.

I guess what im taking to say is taking a step back and looking at what your making but having to change your designs or ect just to fit some SJW agenda is lame. If you wanna draw some skimmy dudes or ladies then just go for it.
